Travellers Information
Thank you for choosing Roaming Africa Tours & Safaris. Below is important information to help you prepare for a smooth and enjoyable safari experience in East Africa.
🛂 Visas & Entry Requirements
Visitors to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda may require a tourist visa depending on nationality. We recommend checking with your nearest embassy or official immigration website before travel. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel date and has sufficient blank pages.
💉 Health & Vaccinations
Travelers are advised to consult their doctor or travel clinic before departure. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate may be required when traveling between East African countries. Malaria prevention is recommended, and carrying personal medication is essential.
🧳 What to Pack
Lightweight, neutral-colored clothing
Comfortable walking shoes
Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
Insect repellent
Camera and binoculars
Personal toiletries and medications
Evenings and early mornings can be cool, so bring a light jacket or sweater.
💱 Currency & Payments
The main currencies are Kenyan Shillings (KES), Tanzanian Shillings (TZS), and Ugandan Shillings (UGX). US Dollars (USD) are widely accepted for safari payments and park fees. Credit and debit cards are accepted in most hotels and lodges, though small denominations of cash are recommended for tips and local purchases.
🦁 Safari Experience
Game drives are conducted in 4×4 safari vehicles with experienced English-speaking guides. Wildlife viewing is best during early mornings and late afternoons. Always follow your guide’s instructions for safety and conservation purposes.
📶 Communication & Connectivity
Mobile network coverage is available in major towns and some park areas, though signal may be limited in remote regions. Many lodges offer Wi-Fi in common areas.
🤝 Responsible Travel
We encourage responsible tourism by respecting wildlife, local communities, and the environment. Avoid littering, follow park regulations, and support local businesses where possible.
🛡️ Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, cancellation, and personal belongings is strongly recommended.
